De Heus Animal Nutrition has announced the acquisition of Voeders Huys, a well-established Belgian feed producer with production sites in Bruges and Northern France. The acquisition adds approximately 250,000 tonnes of annual production capacity to De Heus and strengthens its presence in Western Europe.
The move marks a strategic expansion for De Heus, which has seen strong commercial growth in Belgium, particularly in the poultry sector. Until now, the company primarily supplied the Belgian market from its Dutch facilities. With this acquisition, De Heus gains a stronger local production footprint, enhancing its ability to meet customer demand more efficiently.
“This acquisition marks a new chapter in our long-term growth strategy,” says Gabor Fluit, CEO of De Heus Animal Nutrition. “It enables us to grow together with our farmers and supply chain partners, while also reducing our carbon footprint through shorter supply chains.”
Paul Damen, Managing Director of De Heus Netherlands, adds: “Voeders Huys brings extensive knowledge, a dedicated team and strong customer relationships in the region. We see great opportunities to build on this foundation.”
