Minebea Intec has launched the Dylight S, a compact X-ray inspection system for upright packaging, now available to meet the increasing demands of the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. The system is meant for helping manufacturers with quality, safety and cost-effectiveness.
The Dylight S addresses industry requirements such as documentation and compliance with regulations like the pre-packaging ordinance. It offers an economically attractive solution
for manufacturers facing rising technology costs. The system uses sideshooter technology for precise detection of foreign bodies in light and complex packaging, including PET bottles, tetra-packs, and plastic cans. It detects metallic and non-metallic contaminants like glass, rubber, stones, and plastic, and performs completeness checks and fill level inspections.
Mengqi Liang, Product Manager at Minebea Intec, said the Dylight S’s compact design makes it easy to integrate into production lines. It also features a monoblock generator, eliminating the need for an external transformer, which reduces complexity and lowers the total cost of ownership.
The system includes autonomous parameter adjustment to minimise false rejects, improving efficiency and detection accuracy. Its innovative software generates a second X-ray imagefor better optimisation of brightness, contrast, and scaling, helping operators detect missed contaminants.
The Dylight S is compatible with digital production environments, offering interfaces like OPC-UA and integration with Minebea Intec’s SPC@Enterprise software for data analysis. Remote access via TeamViewer makes maintenance easier.
