September 11th, 2020 – The Online Milling School has attracted great attention since its inception, as it enables participation from the industry worldwide. The course provides the opportunity for attendees to directly communicate with the people who have spent years in the sector.

The Online Milling School (OMS) is held in cooperation between Milling and Grain and Progressus Agrischools, taking place every Wednesday at 14:00 (GMT+7). Founded in 1891, as it is its mission since it started, Milling and Grain has been working to help industry stakeholders improve themselves in the light of scientific data and to solve their current problems, the OMS aims to achieve this.

On Wednesday September 9 the 9th session of the Online Milling School took place, it was focused on, ‘Quality Assurance and Quality Control’. In this session, standards of quality assurance and quality control procedures that ensure standard product quality and safety were reviewed. The importance and usability of test equipment, recent developments in laboratory equipment and laboratory procedures that support the standard delivery of quality feed were emphasised; and traceability, product recall procedures, and blockchain requirements were outlined.

Session 10, which will take place Wednesday September 16 is focused on ‘Feed Mill Management’. The session highlights the necessary management skills required, together with some of the tools available to deliver cost savings such as challenging key performance indicators, energy utilisation, overall equipment effectiveness and effective preventative maintenance.

The Online Milling School is nearing the end of its first Course which ends on September 30, 2020. The 12-week course will roll-over and repeat for the following 12 weeks in the run-up to Christmas at the end of the year. To accommodate the 12 Session in that last week, we are moving the end course from our standard Wednesday to Monday December 21, 2020 at the same time.

We will also be running a re-broadcast of the 12 Sessions (in the same week) on a Friday at 10:00 to reach North, Central and South America during their working day. Again the last Session of the Course will be held on Tuesday December 22, 2020 at 10:00 to accommodate the Christmas holiday period.
