Louis Dreyfus Company reports 2024 financial and sustainability results

Louis Dreyfus Company B.V. (LDC) reported its financial and sustainability performance for the year ending 31 December, 2024. The company posted net sales of €47.5 billion, segment operating results of €2.2 billion, and EBITDA of €1.75 billion, despite ongoing geopolitical and climate challenges.

LDC’s capital expenditure increased significantly to €926 million, focusing on organic growth and acquisitions. Key developments included expanding oilseed processing capacity in the US and Canada, building a pea protein production plant, and investing in logistics facilities in South America. Additionally, LDC completed two strategic acquisitions: Companhia Cacique de Café Solúvel and Namoi Cotton Limited.

On the sustainability front, LDC advanced its 2030 emissions reduction targets, focusing on energy efficiency and increasing the use of renewable energy. The company also continued its efforts toward deforestation- and conversion-free supply chains and supported regenerative agriculture practices.

The company also launched the Montebelo Brasil juice brand in France and relaunched its Vibhor edible oils brand in India. LDC signed a binding agreement to acquire BASF’s Food and Health Performance Ingredients business, pending regulatory approval, to expand in the plant-based ingredients market.

  • Adjusted Leverage Ratio: 0.5x (up from 0.1x in 2023)
  • Adjusted Net Gearing: 0.15 (up from 0.02 in 2023)
  • Liquidity Coverage: 2.7x (down from 5.2x in 2023)
