The Institute for Feed Education and Research (IFEEDER) held its annual Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday to review its activities over the past year, outline future plans, and install new board leadership.
The board discussed recent efforts including expanded sustainability research, increased industry outreach, and reports on feed and petfood ingredient consumption. IFEEDER also marked its first Day of Giving on 17 April and reported growth in its funding base.
Executive Director Lara Moody said IFEEDER aims to continue supporting the feed and petfood industries through research and education. Plans for the upcoming fiscal year include advancing sustainability tools, broadening project scope, and diversifying funding and partnerships.
During the meeting, Carlos Gonzalez, Ph D, of Hill’s Pet Nutrition was recognised for his service as board chair for the 2024–25 fiscal year. Leigh Ann Sayen of The Peterson Company was installed as the new chair, and Steve Lerner, Ph D, of Novonesis Animal and Plant Biosolutions was named vice chair.
The board welcomed new trustees Nate Bingaman of D1 Resources, Rebecca Mowen of ADM Animal Nutrition, and Nick Rozzi of Hill’s Pet Nutrition. Outgoing trustees Jamee Krug Blahauvietz, Scott Lovin, and Paul Phillips were thanked for their service.
IFEEDER stated it will continue focusing on projects aligned with its strategic plan to support the animal food industry’s evolving needs.
