Beneo GmbH, a functional ingredients manufacturer for food and feed, has announced the appointment of Dr Uwe Boltersdorf as Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective 1 February 2026.
Dr Boltersdorf brings more than 20 years of international management experience across production, process development and engineering. He studied chemical engineering at the University of Dortmund and completed his doctorate at the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology UMSICHT in Oberhausen.
Throughout his career, he has held senior roles at Bayer AG, Lanxess AG, thyssenkrupp AG and Sulzer AG, building extensive expertise in plant operations and industrial process optimisation.
On 1 April 2025, Dr Boltersdorf joined the Executive Board of CropEnergies AG as Chief Operating Officer. He will continue in that role alongside his new responsibilities at Beneo. As COO, he will oversee Operations, including production, technology, supply chain management, quality, raw materials, health and safety, environmental protection and sustainability.
Dr Boltersdorf succeeds Dr Mike Eberle, who assumed the role of CEO of the Sugar Division at Südzucker Group in October 2025.
Commenting on his appointment, Dr Boltersdorf said he looks forward to contributing his international experience in plant engineering and chemical industries to support Beneo’s continued growth, emphasising the importance of operational excellence and leveraging synergies between his dual leadership roles.
