Adifo launches BESTMIX® Formulation as a Service
platform

Adifo

Adifo

Nutrition software supplier Adifo has launched a cloud-based
collaborative platform as an extension to BESTMIX®, their profit-driven
feed formulation and recipe management system. The extension platform is
bound to revolutionize the information interchange between nutrition
experts and the outside world to the benefit of all parties involved, including
feed advisors, external partners and customers.
The Formulation as a Service solution – securely implemented in the cloud
– gives users online access to part of a nutrition company’s BESTMIX®
database. Users can retrieve minute-precise market data, rely on up-to-date
equations and use state-of-the-art formulation functionality at any time.
They can also record project or customer-specific data such as purchase
costs and specifications.

Adifo has pioneered a new way of working which will dramatically
improve the collaborative interaction between all parties in the nutrition
company’s value chain.

Account managers and independent consultants will simulate
adaptations to recipes to meet specific customer demands and
evaluate immediately the cost impact of their adaptations.
Internal departments such as marketing, sales and quality
assurance will produce their own data and reports without compromising core data.

External interested parties will be able to sign knowledge
contracts with the nutrition company and take advantage of
nutritional know-how.
Research centres will want to use the system to unlock their
nutritional knowledge to interested parties all over the world.
The formulation department can learn about evolving customer
preferences by analyzing adaptations made by the client.
The Formulation as a Service platform has the additional advantage of
being easy to set up and use. There are no worries for the customer; the
solution even eliminates the need for setting up and maintaining dedicated
laptops for account managers or consultants. What’s more, Adifo backs up
the data and updates the software continuously, leaving the customer care-
free.

This Formulation As A Service platform will be launched and
demonstrated for the first time at the IPPE show: Hall A, booth 3118.

Bosch Packaging Data Revolution

Bosch Packaging Technology has introduced its Mobile Measuring System for capturing relevant data for the analysis of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). The system enables manufacturers to gain a rapid overview of the OEE of their production lines and serves as a basis for equipment optimization, Bosch said.

The Mobile Measuring System provides the required data on output, speed, downtimes and waste across an entire line and identifies potential for improvement to increase equipment effectiveness and productivity, Bosch reports. If potentials are identified, Bosch determines through competent OEE consulting together with the manufacturer the main causes of the deficiencies and defines steps to address them, the company said.

“Increasing overall equipment effectiveness, and therefore production, is of great significance to our customers. Purchasing OEE measuring systems to identify any potential for improvement can, however, be very expensive and time-consuming,” said Roland Pichler, OEE Consultant, Bosch. “That is why our Mobile Measuring System is an ideal solution for our customers. It can be easily applied for a predetermined period of time and shows potentials for improvement quickly, simply and cost-effectively.”
