Chronos BTH Buoyed by Weight of New Deal

Nottingham based Chronos BTH  is pleased to announce that they have supplied more of their CHRONO-WEIGH™ APW process weighers to an expansive milling complex in Egypt. With a reputation for providing precision and versatile throughput weighing solutions in the flour milling sector this will come as rewarding news to Chronos BTH nad future clients alike.

Seven (7) CHRONO-WEIGH™ APW process weighers, all of the latest 3 loadcell design, have been installed to provide a variety of roles as part of this exciting project. From first break weighing through to flour blending, these process weighers form an integral part of the weighing and packaging process equipment that has been installed by Chronos BTH.

The bulk intake weighing of grain into the mill will be provided by the CHRONO-BULK™ AW/VW weigher which is controlled by a PC456i controller. Downstream of the milling process a CHRONO-FILL™ K4.2 Carousel packing system with RV packer is providing high speed flour packing, at rates matched to the output of the mill.

The order was secured by Issam Baydoun based in Jordan owing to the various Chronos BTH manufacturing locations around the world from which the equipment has been supplied.

Chronos BTH state that all APW Weighers are designed for simple integration into new or existing mills and are capable of freestanding operation thus offering fantastic versatility. APWs can apparently also be interfaced with any mill control system.

Chronos BTH Limited incorporates Richard Simon Limited, Verville and Premier Tech Chronos – America for European spares, refurbishments, service, installation and commissioning.

Record Wheat Crop thanks to Indian Summer

The latest crop-stock reports coming out of India may make for interesting reading to a vast majority of our listed IMD companies as India Infoline reports that it may harvest a record crop this year.

Thanks to some good weather and a helping hand from its government the country’s farmers are likely to reap something in the region of 90.23 million metric tons of wheat in 2012. That is an increase from last year’s 86.87 million tons, according to the UN’s Food & Agriculture Organization based in Rome.

While rice and course grains had got off to a slow start because of a scarcity of rain, a favorable monsoon last year boosted its cereal production to a record 232.1 million tons including milled rice, up 5.5 percent from a year earlier, it said.

Owing to this, India will have a surplus of about 13 million tons available to export in the 2012-13 season that started in April, nearly doubling the average for the previous five-years, this includes wheat, corn and rice.

However there is concern over a lack of sufficient quality storage capacity surrounding this report by FAO.

New to IMD 2012/13: Centre for Management Technology

New to IMD this week we welcome Centre for Management Technology (CMT) which is an international events organiser for a wide range of industry sectors, most notably to us in milling and commodities.

Now in their 29th year CMT has been hosting the industry elite from all across the world and continues to grow out of its bases in Singapore and Kuala Lumpar. This year some In fast changing business environments where knowledge obsolescence is a feature, CMT events offer the most effective opportunity to narrow the knowledge gaps.

In 2012 CMT has already been responsible for events such as Global Grain Asia, Commercial Farm Africa and Cassava Starch World among others. In October this year they host the Commercial Farm Asia event in Yangon which will feature expert speakers from the Myanmar Rubber Planters, Rice planters, SGS Group and many more who will be tackling the big issues in Asian farming in 2012.

Companies wishing to exhibit or sponsor at the event can do so by following this link. Or indeed if you simply wish to gather more information on the project you can do simply by visiting www.cmtevents.com.

It’s Deadline Day!

Hello,

I hope everybody has had productive week and as the summer solstice rolled over so has our deadline for IMD admissions for the 2012/13 printed addition… well almost.

We have already seen such great enthusiasm in your participation for 2012/13 and even as I write this blog there are still so many of you registering with us so for those still thinking about it, stop thinking and start doing, remember it is free to join!

Once again there has been a tremendous amount of you who have contacted me regarding our equipment guides section which is filling up nicely. Thanks to the sheer scale of information we will be processing over the coming weeks, there will be some extra time available for those wishing to take part to submit art-work, etc.

The same applies to anybody wishing to benefit from a Company Profile page. Yesterday I posted some information on them and about the ways in which they could serve to expose your organisation, if you require more information on this I will be happy to receive your call or email.

We are now also taking applications for companies wishing to place adverts in IMD 2012/13, offering an extensive range of options to suit you. From quarter-page to full-page you can decide what size and and in what section you wish to place your advert, which will appear in print and online where it will stay for at least 5 years. Each new advert you place will be posted here on millinginternational and also in your profile page on the IMD website.

Anybody interested in advertising with IMD should contact me to discuss the most suitable option for you.

In the mean time let me take this opportunity to thank you for your participation so far in making IMD the most effective tool for connecting the world’s milling community. Publishing begins on Monday so be sure to take one last look at your print options for IMD 2012/13 over the next 48hours and enjoy your weekends!

A Company Profile Page with IMD?

Company Profile pages are fast becoming one of the most popular and successful methods in enhancing your exposure with IMD. Most of you will by now be aware of what they are and how they are of benefit to you. But for those that aren’t already in the loop let me outline what they are all about…

Placed within the Equipment Guides section, Company Profile pages are a blank canvass that extends across a double page spread. What you place on this canvas? Well that is entirely up to you. As you will see in the slideshow below we already have a wide and varying range of styles and methodologies in how our customers use this space.

For the most part those who have participated in the past have submitted 300 word articles about their companies and accompanied them with logos and miscellaneous pictures related to their organisations. Others have used the space to focus on a specific product and again with the help of some good photography or artwork they have proven to be more than just  an advert.

Let’s not forget how IMD marketing benefits all work together in a continuous distribution flow exposing and promoting you further and wider than first impression might perceive, your company profile page won’t just be seen by our 8,072  current print subscribers. It will reach the 41,000 (approx.) online readers visiting hosting websites such as Slideshare and Issuu where the IMD is also available and even further still every new company profile page that we create is posted right here on millinginternational. And then there is of course the circa 300,000+ visitors expected on our www.internationalmilling.com expected throughout the year where you profile will be displayed.

When you choose to participate in a Company Profile page you will be in direct contact with our design team who will take on board any feedback you have throughout the design process, giving you the required amount of control in creating the page to your exact design and style specifications.

Interested? Take a look through the slideshow for inspiration on how you could stand out heads above your competitors, then get in touch with me to begin creating your masterpiece.

A Company Profile page in IMD is so much more than an advert.

Email sent to all IMD companies.

Hello All,

I have taken this opportunity to contact each and everyone personally to remind you, if not inform you, of the benefits of submitting an equipment guide into IMD 2012/13.

The ‘Equipment Guides’ section offers you a platform on which to promote your most valuable products. It is a fantastic tool for guaranteeing an entire page devoted to your company in IMD and enhancing your exposure far beyond your competitors. Don’t forget that IMD has an already impressive circulation, which will be increased this year to meet a growing demand. This means that your completed equipment guide would reach circa 8000 readers in print and be viewed by 290,000 (approx.) readers online from all across the globe.

The beauty of these guides is that for you they are available completely FREE-OF-CHARGE, so it would be a shame to miss out! However there are ways in which you can add value to your guides that are available for a small fee. For £150 you can add product photos and a logo to your guide, which will not only stand out amongst the other guides, but will also give customers a clear indication of your product features. Take a look at the examples of last year’s guides below.

Submitting a guide is easy, all you need to do is;

– email me asking specifying which template (s) you require
– fill your product details into the appropriate templates
– save it as your company name
– send it back to me
– attach good sized jpeg’s of product pictures and company logo (£150)

Our design team will do the rest!

The categories in this year’s guide are: Cleaning, Colour Sorting, Coolers & Driers, Drop Forged Chain & Components, Dust Filtration, Elevator Buckets, Extruders & Expanders, Hammermills, Mixers & Grinders, Packaging, Pellet Press, Rollermills, Sieving & Sifting, Storage and Weighing & Scales.

If you have any queries or require assistance in completing your guides please feel free to contact me. But act now to avoid deadline disappointment!
