The UK’s leading technical event for the arable industry kicks off this week and we are delighted to be one of the many industry leaders attending. Cereals 2012 will feature over 64ha of stands and live demonstrations of sprays & sprayers, crop plots, post-harvest technology and much more.
Some 27,000 visitors will be descending upon Boothby Graffoe, Lincolnshire on Wednesday June 13, and Thursday June 14 for what promises to be an eventful two days despite the unseasonal weather forecast. Event organiser Jon Day of Haymarket Exhibitions said, “We have had a few enquiries from visitors and exhibitors asking if Cereals is going ahead. The answer is very much yes – the Boothby Graffoe site is as near to waterproof as you could get.”
That will come as good news to the 490 exhibitors attending the event, including us at Perendale Publishing. You will find us at stand number G814 where our team of directors will be looking forward to meeting and having a friendly chat with you. Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it due to this incredibly busy period for IMD as we approach our deadline but I hope to receive plenty of feedback regarding IMD from our International Sales Manager Darren Parris who will be in attendance. Companies not yet registered with IMD will also have the opportunity to fill in a quick form to enjoy the many benefits of being part of the worlds most comprehensive directory for the milling industry.
As the leading arable event in the UK, Cereals also provides the platform for lively debate and seminars on the years key issues such as food versus environment, raising crop output and CAP reform. Panellists include farm minister Jim Paice, NFU president Peter Kendall, IBERS director Prof Wayne Powell, CPA chief executive Dominic Dyer, CLA president Harry Cotterill and Martin Nesbit, DEFRA’s director of EU and International Agriculture.
Tickets to the event are available at the gate on each day so there is no need to miss out if you haven’t already booked. Visit www.cerealsevent.co.uk to find all of the information you need on Cereals 2012, including a list of exhibitors and directions to the site.
For those attending, have fun, stay dry and we look forward to meeting you.

Those of you familiar with the IMD may be aware of the double page features that we are able to provide as part of the directory. Placed the the Equipment Guide, a company profile page is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your exposure within the IMD.
What does it include? To put it simply, anything you want and it’s easy. All we need is an article about you or your products, some good sized jpeg pictures and a company logo, then our design team will do the rest. Once the design is completed you will receive a copy for approval before publishing.
One of the benefits of having a company profile page is that it guarantees you at least two pages in the directory all to yourself, branded with your logo and your company style. Once approved it will also appear on your online listing and can be distributed across our web platforms where it will stay for at least five years.
Anytime a new company profile page is completed it will feature as a blog item right here! If anybody is interested in participating please feel free to contact me and we can discuss your ideas. There is also lots of information on company profiles in the IMD mediafile which is available at www.internationalmilling.com.

Alex Rogers – IMD Coordinator
Welcome to the blog for the International Milling Directory.
With the publishing deadline for our 21st printed edition of the directory, there really is no more exciting time to be part of it. We already have over 1200 companies registered with IMD and I fully expect that number to be closer to 1500 before we go to print.
I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome back all of those continuing their listings from last year, and also those who are new for 2012/13. I’m sure that together we will enjoy growing as a global community, and that this blog will be a vital piece of the puzzle in achieving that.
It will feature all of the latest news from IMD such as company updates, new products and events & shows from around the world, bringing you all of the news directly associated with your directory. For this reason I encourage your participation just as much as mine. When your company launches a new project, acquisition or even a a new member of staff we’d like to know.
Over the next few weeks I will be introducing some of our new members and those who have updated for 2012/13, also I will keep you up to date with progress in publishing our 21st printed edition. Until the next time, I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
